Winter 2025/26
The new Thunderbird Treatment Center is taking shape day by day, and every step in the construction process brings us closer to opening a new home. The photos below offer a glimpse into our progress as we aim to open the doors to our relatives in the second half of 2026.
Front Entrance

The renovated front entrance features a covered walkway, easy accessibility, and reflects the Thunderbird Treatment Center’s updated design.
Traditional Indian Medicine (TIM)

The Traditional Indian Medicine space is a multi-purpose area that supports holistic healing practices. It houses patient medications, laboratories, and apothecaries, with dedicated space for TIM practitioners to prepare and create medicines onsite.
Ceremonial Center

The Ceremonial Center is a flexible gathering space used for group activities, meetings, and ceremonies. Designed as a round structure rather than a Western-style box room, it is constructed with cedar and filled with natural light to honor Indigenous ways of gathering.
Basketball/Pickleball Court & Outdoor Sweat Area

This outdoor area will include a basketball and pickleball court, sweat lodge, and Traditional Indian Medicine garden. Together, these spaces support physical wellness, cultural practices, and connection to land as part of the healing process.
Children’s Play Area

The children’s play area serves families in the Pregnant and Parenting Program, located in its own dedicated wing. This private, covered, and secure space allows parents to bring their children with them to treatment, removing a major barrier to care while ensuring safety and privacy.
